Located on the southern tip of Mississauga, bordering Lake Ontario and Oakville, the neighborhood of Clarkson is home to the city’s heritage. The Clarkson area was one of the first established in the region, which gives it an extraordinary historic charm. The area was named after Warren Clarkson, who arrived in here in 1808. He operated the general store and post office for many years. If you admire early architecture, then you’ll love Clarkson’s 1819 home, which still stands on Clarkson Road, along with the community's other older houses including the 1830 Bradley House, the 1839 Anchorage, and the 1857 Benares which are all open to the public.
