Making Room for a Make Over

You don’t have to wait for a special season to give a part of your home a quick and easy change. In order to spruce up the space, you need a good plan, and some inspiration! You’ll want to start by listing down the functionality of the room. What it’s used for, how much time you spend there, and what you absolutely need in it.

When you start planning the room make over, you should ask yourself a few questions. What’s your budget? What furniture and accessories will you need to buy? How will you map out the room? And what style and color palette will you use?

The first place to start is on Pinterest, read more about what I wrote about the “Pinterest Revolution” here[H1] . Get on the website and search for the type of room you’re planning to redecorate. You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to new and fresh ideas. From furniture to accessories, styles, colors and décor, there’s so much you can explore and experiment with. It’ll be your own virtual home decorator!

Once you’ve narrowed down your “pinspiration” start working on a budget. You can sell old furniture to make room for new pieces. Get on kijiji or any other local buying/selling website. You’ll probably be able to find something new to buy, while you’re trying to sell what you already have. Remember room makeovers don’t need high budgets, you just need to decide how much you’re willing to spend, and then work from there.

But before you set your heart on a big and comfy sofa, make sure you have the room for it! Map out the space and figure out where you’re going to put everything, before you buy it. You’ll need to know where everything goes, and how much space it will take in order to set up the room without overcrowding it.

A quick and easy way to give any room a face lift is a change of paint. Choose a color that compliments your palette and décor, and you’ll brighten things up instantly.

The best part about room makeovers, is that you can do them any time of year. It doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it certainly breathes some life into any living space.
